Subtle Edens ~ The Elastic Book of Slipstream
Subtle Edens, Elastic Press’s collection of unhinged spec fic was released this month and is available pretty much everywhere. Joshua Reynolds of The Fix - Short Fiction Review had this to say about the contribution written by DW: “D.Grîn, with “Nose Piercing,” spins us a story about puppets with a side order of satire. But the latter is light and never hammered home as it is elsewhere. Instead, we’re given a choice of targets and never led directly to any of them as the story comes to a gory (splintery?) ending in fine, action-cinema tradition. There’s a hint of Harlan Ellison in this one—it berates, but uncertainly, as if unsure of whether to champion the rebel or the rebelled against.”
Anyway, it’s a beautiful and fascinating book, well worth your ducats..
